Assuming the situation is appropriate, drivers will be encouraged to take pictures with passengers to generate positive brand interaction via the campaign hashtag.

Also populated on the hashtag would be positive messaging regarding student mental health such as stress avoidance and coping techniques.

Direct access to Universities

Providing a humanitarian service for the students

Increased awareness and affinity for the brand among students 17-21.

Generates a habit of requesting a Lyft over calling an Uber for frequent use.

When students access the FIU app, a tab/icon for Lyft U will be available within the transportation options.

Students have been made aware of Lyft and its integration on campus during orientation, through the campus’ student resources, and through the app.

Students will know that the drivers are medical students who can lend out their ear, give advice, or recommend campus resources regarding mental health.

By using medical students as drivers, they can ask leading questions and assess how student passengers are handling the stress of college life and provide information on campus resources to help cope with college life in a friendly, approachable way. Sometimes, just having a stranger to talk to can make a difference in someone in need’s life.

For the medical student, being a Lyft U driver can help them earn required community service hours and provide practice in assessing patient’s mental health.
